Drei scharfe Fraubands

die heute niemand mehr kennt.

und eine Dame die einen großen Papa hat.

Eine Band

die heute niemand mehr kennt.

Kangaroo - Daydream Stallion, featuring Barbara Keith, 1968

This album contains two gems, both featuring the vocal talents of Barbara Keith, who's 1972 self-titled album on Warner Bros/Reprise was incredible (a CD is available) and highly recommended. The rest of this album is forgettable but these two tunes are beautiful. See my other posting from this LP. This song was actually released as a single at one point back in '68, but saw no airplay of note. I discovered this album after finally chasing down her 1972 LP in 1975

KANGAROO RELEASED THEIR SOLE ALBUM IN 1968,HAVING OPENED FOR ACTS SUCH AS THE DOORS AND THE WHO.IN THIS BAND..FEATURING THE TALENTS OF SINGER BARBARA KEITH (WHOSE SONGS HAVE BEEN COVERED BY BARBARA STREISAND,DELANEY & BONNIE,LOWELL GEORGE ,NEAL CASAL,AND OTHERS)

Hinweis von Lillian Roxon,

die Frau die 1971 das erste brauchbare Rocklexikon schrieb

A film about writer Lillian Roxon - who got a front row seat at the birth of punk rock in NYC in the 70's. written and directed by paul clarke, produced by robert de young. now at toronto film festival and DOC NYC festival

Mother of Rock: Lillian Roxon shines a light into the decadent world of Max's Kansas City, a tiny underground club in New York, and Lillian Roxon's place in documenting the emerging rock revolution as it rolled over the US in the 1960s and early 1970s.
